Information We Collect

When you use VinMain, we collect the following information:

1). Contact information: your name, email address, and phone number, collected at registration.

2). One-Time Passcode (OTP): to securely verify your identity during registration or login.

3). Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): to provide a comprehensive vehicle history report.

4). Identity documents: images of your driver's license, submitted to verify your identity as part of a financing request.

5). Financial and credit information: self-reported income, employment information, and — with your authorization — a soft credit inquiry, submitted supporting documents (such as a salary slip, utility bill, or employment document), and other information needed to pre-qualify you for vehicle financing.

6). Location information: your address, and (for lenders) branch location, used to match applicants with participating lenders in their area.

7). Device and usage information: device identifiers, app activity, and diagnostic data, used to operate the app, measure performance, and provide in-app messaging. Shared with our analytics and messaging providers (Firebase, CometChat) solely to provide those services.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

1). Generate detailed vehicle history reports.

2). Transmit your financing request — including your identity, income, and credit information — to participating lenders and their representatives so they can evaluate and pre-qualify you for financing, per our Terms of Service.

3). Verify your identity and prevent fraud.

4). Communicate with you about your account, application status, and (with your consent) by SMS text message.

5). Enhance your user experience and ensure the app operates effectively.

Data Protection and Security

Your data security is our priority. We use industry-standard encryption and secure data storage practices to protect your sensitive information. Unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your data is actively prevented through robust security measures.

Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We do share it in the following limited circumstances, as necessary to provide our services:

1). Lenders: when you submit a financing request, we transmit your identity, contact, income, employment, and credit information to the participating lender(s) evaluating your request, so they can make a lending decision. This is the core function of the app and is described in our Terms of Service.

2). Service vendors: we share limited information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including vehicle history and VIN decoding providers, credit reporting/soft-pull providers, SMS/OTP delivery providers, cloud hosting and storage providers, and analytics and in-app messaging providers (Firebase, CometChat). These vendors are only permitted to use your information to provide the service we've contracted them for.

3). Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VinMain, our users, or the public.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We retain your personal and financial information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to comply with legal, tax, audit, and recordkeeping obligations (including the cryptographically sealed HCAR audit record associated with lending decisions, which is retained to preserve the integrity of that audit trail). When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

1). Access and review the personal data we have collected.

2). Request corrections to your personal information.

3). Request deletion of your account and associated data (see "How to Delete Your Account" below).

4). Withdraw your consent to data collection and usage (note: this may limit your use of the app).

How to Delete Your Account on VinMain

If you wish to permanently delete your VinMain account, please follow the steps below:

1. Open the VinMain App - Launch the VinMain app on your mobile device.

2. Tap the Three-Dot Menu (⋮) - In the top-right corner of the screen, tap the three vertical dots to open the side dashboard.

3. Access the Side Dashboard - The side dashboard will slide in from the side of the screen.

4. Select "Delete Account" - Scroll through the dashboard and tap on the Delete Account option.

5. Confirm Deletion - A confirmation pop-up will appear saying: "Are you sure you want to delete the account?"

6. Tap "OK" to Confirm - If you're sure, tap OK. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. ⚠️ This action is irreversible.

7. Tap "Cancel" to Go Back - If you do not wish to proceed, tap Cancel to return to the app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please review this page periodically for updates.
